Guidelines for the Students Street Dancing

Theme: “Viva kay Senor Sto. Nino”
Balik Ati, Hala Bira sa Mardi Gras

 1.       The “Sad-sad kay Senor Sto. Nino” will be held on January 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. Assembly time is 1 p.m in the afternoon at Mabini Street. It is open to all elementary, high school and college students and teachers/advisers from public/private and public schools in Aklan.

2.       The theme for the activity is FANTASY. Thus, all participants are encouraged to wear fancy costumes and come up with floats decorated with your own concept.  Students are also requested to carry flaglets and picture images of the Santo Nino.

3.       Each school must have a banner or streamer containing the following text: for example, Kalibo Pilot Elementary School joins Balik Ati, Hala Bira sa Mardi Gras ‘Viva Kay Senor Sto. Nino”

4.       Teachers / advisers must serve as leaders and must ensure orderly street dancing of participating students. Discipline is a must.

5.       Participants must shout “Viva Kay Sr. Sto. Nino”! Viva!” while dancing on the streets. A leader must be assigned for this purpose.

6.       Drinking of alcoholic beverages and sprinkling of water, powder or starch while street dancing during the Sad-sad kay Senor Sto. Nino is strictly prohibited.

7.       Only Ati-Atihan band or drum or bugle will be allowed to play music during the street dancing from start to finish of their street dancing.

8.       While in Kalibo Pastrana Park, participants are encouraged to enter the Saint John the Baptist Cathedral and pray in reverence to the Sto. Nino. Praying and adoring Senor Sto. Nino is the very essence of the celebration.

9.       Teachers /advisers should be with their pupils and students during the duration of the street dancing.

10.   Teachers remind their students that street dancing is a form of adoration and workship to our dear Sto. Nino.
